Super Fast

I spent all day in class for day 1 of my NRA Basic Pistol Instructor course, so I am exhausted, but I wanted to let you know it is going well and to tell you on Friday I met with Arete for a couple of hours of training.

I will give you the entire scoop on both, but I here is a hint of how it went Friday...

My left hand, but it could be my right cuz they both are bruised

This is the back of my leg right behind my knee cap.  All my veins are popping out and it was kind of swollen and squishy.

I have bruises all over and to be honest I can't figure out why.  I certainly felt the hits, kicks, blocks, but at no point was I in pain nor was there a point that I said, "that'll leave a mark."  These pics are right after I got home, but by this morning they were a pretty shade of black and blue.

Hope everyone's Saturday was fabulous!!!!

Were you wearing a redman suit or protective padding? Ice everything down, take some Motrin and carry on.

Nope! No pads at all. He brings them, but I don't want them. It doesn't make sense to me. Maybe if he decides to hit me in the head, but otherwise I refuse. I am really not in pain. The bruises on my legs I can feel, but they don't hurt. Tender, but not pain.

Your body will heal. But hopefully the lesson will remain fresh.

Awesome. I most definitely came out on the better end of today's work. I think overall you did, too. Even if it doesn't feel like it.

Exactly!! Pain(which I really am not in) is temporary and I am learning much.

Ha Ha I remember those days.

The adrenaline helps block a lot of the pain. Tomorrow you'll be sore. Running helps.

Disclaimer: You know darn well martial arts and running are both things I gave up years ago. YMMV

No pain, no gain. Right?

Yeah, I've got a finger on my right hand that is either dislocated or broken ( I think broken ). Happened during Judo. I guess I need to see a doctor about that, but I'm afraid of what he will say.

Bumps and bruises are all part of conditioning. The bruises you'll probably never get rid of, but the soreness should eventually become a non-issue, at least in my experience. I haven't done any training like that in many years, so I wouldn't be able to walk after a day like that. Good stuff!

Ouch... I call stuff like that battle wounds. (even though it's not really battle) It means your ready if it were to come around.
