Just In Case

This is for the women, who like me, at one time, or maybe still, doubted their worth.

If you think for one minute you aren't worth the fight, think about this..

Someone else in your life does.

You, all by yourself matter. You don't need a single person to validate your worth, but if you are still working your way to that truth, think about someone, anyone, in your life who would miss you if you decided not to fight.

  1. I believe that someone would miss you, or me, even if they didn't know me yet. We all have value, to ourselves, our world, and sometimes we touch others without evern knowing.

  2. My wife depends on me... at least a little anyway. :) So I owe it to her to be a fighter if need be.

  3. Tango Juliet, I am an independent woman, who can in fact fight for herself, but I depend on y husband. I can take care of myself(now), but I still like being taken care of. When someone, my husband cares for me, I feel value. Not because he loves me, but because I love him. You are a man among men.

  4. Have I mentioned I dislike my iPad sometimes?

Lynne, you are brilliant. Your words are so true and in fact as you were posting this, I was in conversation with a friend about this exact thing. Just for the record, I have yet to meet you in person, but I would most certainly miss you.

  5. Whenever I get feeling that way, I open a small slip of paper I always carry with me in my wallet - written to me by my son when he was just learning to write. Special words from a wonderful kid.

They always remind me which end is up.

  6. Maura, when I get feeling that way, I open a small slip of paper too. It's my brother's suicide note. I have carried,it with me for years, but never looked at it. Now, I open it from time to time and I think, I wish he knew what I know now.

How special your slip of paper is.

  7. Realizing that you have worth is the first step in deciding to defend yourself. Sadly, too many people do not think they are worth anything.

  8. Your right Larry. It is sad. I didn't have low self esteem but that day in March. I was happy. I liked who I was, but there was something so ingrained in who I thought I was, that I placed a higher value on everyone else's worth. What makes me crazy is that I didn't realize it until after the bad guy came around.

I have been blessed to have a lot of women share their stories with me and, for many of them, their lack of self worth is on their mind daily.

  9. I will fight so that my son will grow up with a father.

    Also:
Imagine standing before God after some dirtbag takes your life without you fighting at all. Imagine trying to explain to him why you thought this ultimate gift he gave you was not worth fighting for.

  10. We all have worth. Everyone from the babies waiting to be born to those that have lived long full lives.

Like Lynne said - ..."sometimes we touch others without ever knowing."

    How true this is.

  11. My daughter is now sixteen and our philosophy is that we're, "Trying to raise a Christian gal that wants a man in her life, but never needs a man in her life"...
